**What are “SBS,” shingles?

-       First, it is important to understand what “SBS,” stands for which is styrene-butadiene-styrene, which is a rubber-like ingredient used to modify the pliability and weatherability of the roofing asphalt shingles.

-       SBS shingles look like regular shingles, but they come with enhanced performance characteristics such as tear resistance, surface granular adhesion, and probably the most important are their impact resistant qualities. This is crucial to a roof in Colorado where hailstorms are a common occurrence and where the impact-resistant will help.
